Summarise what podcasting is and the ways it is different from traditional radio broadcasting for the producers and the audience. Consider the platforms used to promote and deliver podcasts and find a couple of examples
(beginner's guide for those totally unfamiliar with podcasts)
Podcasting is broadcasting a spoken word digital audio file that people download to listen to from their interests. It is different from the traditional radio broadcasting because it doesn't include music or promote sounds it strictly consits of speech and a topic of interest. It is used and promoted on iTunes, Spotify, Podbean and more Podcast apps.

Define and give an example of a commercial and a public Service radio broadcaster, explaining the key differences.
Commerial broadcasters such as Fleming, Heather (31 March 1997), present televsion programs and radio programming by privatley owned corporate media, as opposed to state sponsorship.
Public service broadcasters such as Brook, Stephen (18 May 2006), present public benefit broadcasting rather than to serve purely commercial interests.
Explain the purpose, mission and values of the BBC and what it is meant to do for the public.
The BBC is meant to spread awareness (inform), educate and provide enetertainment for its audience. Its mission is to spread news globally, support learning of all ages, show creative services and to reflect the United Kingdom its culture, importance and values to the world.
Give at least one example each of how the BBC broadcasts or provides content nationally, locally and globally:
The BBC is funded by license fee that is paid by UK households. It provides 10 national channels, TV programmes and internet TV servise as well as a lot of radio stations such as Radio 1, Radio 4 and many more, which is how it spreads nationally and locally. It spreads globally by being accessible online, promoting on other platforms such as youtube and displaying news often that has reached countries around the world.
Content and style of BBC Radio 4: LINK
Based on the types of programmes available, the branding of the station , the choice of presenters and listening to the content, explain the general content, identity and audience of Radio 4 and give some examples of speech-based radio programmes from the station.
The content on Radio 4 is public speech and lifestyle podcasts. The audience would be middle aged- eldery pupils. An example of programmes from the station is 'Thoughts of the day' "Anyone who calls out injustice is a prophet." a public speech against injustice, News breifing which gives speech updates on everything that's going on in society as well as across the world. Also 'Britain's Strangest Hauntings' a lifestyle study for those who believe in the supernatural or would like knowledge on it.
